Sky Venture: The World's Biggest Indoor Sky Dive Adventure

Where engineering expertise meets extreme indoor experience

Rising between Abu Dhabi's largest shopping mall and renowned Ferrari World on Yas Island, Sky Venture immediately captures attention. Reaching approximately 60 metres in height, it is not only the tallest building on the island but also a striking landmark within the skyline surrounding the Formula One racetrack.

Inside, the project is home to the world's largest indoor skydiving wind tunnel featuring a 9,75-metre flying chamber that allows visitors to fly up to 30 metres high. The skydiving simulator rises 50 metres above ground, spans 50 metre in width and 20 metre in depth. Complementing this attraction is a 2.000 square metre climbing facility spread across four walls of varying difficulty levels. At 43 metres, it forms the world's tallest indoor climbing wall.

Beyond its impressive attractions, the project stands out as a remarkable engineering achievement. STRABAG was responsible for the design and construction of the distinctive building envelope and structural framework.

Its crystal-like geometry demanded an exceptionally sophisticated approach and set new standards. Every steel connection node was individually designed and fabricated to support the triangular secondary structure. In total, 130 unique mega panels create the building envelope, covering around 15.000 square metres. All panels, weighing up to 18 tons, had to be pre-assembled with the facade skin on the ground, lifted and fixed into final position.
